Integrating Your Care
Health psychology is concerned with how physical health affects your emotional state and how psychological factors influence your health. Health problems can stop you in your tracks, and can often be associated with anxiety, depression, or grief. I have experience working with a wide array of chronic and acute illnesses and can teach you how to best manage the psychological factors related to your health issues. With your permission, I work closely with your doctors and medical team for a unique and integrated approach to your overall health.
A Happier, Healthier You
In our counseling sessions, we’ll identify the issues you are having and get right to work, finding effective tools to cope with life’s obstacles, including depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. I am also adept at identifying the root causes of your symptoms and helping you make lasting changes to improve stubborn lifelong patterns.
Weathering Hard Times Together
Life stressors can take a toll on relationships, and can sometimes bring old conflicts back to the forefront. Couples counseling can help you build the habits of effective communication and also find more peace with longstanding relationship issues.
Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway.
Saint Teresa of Calcutta
The feedback I hear most consistently about myself as a therapist is that I am a "calming presence." This is the spirit I bring to each patient and therapy session.
Spending my career in the healthcare field has helped me recognize the significant overlap between physical health and mental health, and the importance of treating people holistically in terms of mind, body, and spirit.
By nature I am an understanding person, and learning about my privileges as a middle-class White man have made me value difference and diversity.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
Seeing a therapist is a big decision, whether it's just a few visits, or for a season of your life. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my patients and to be a small yet significant part of their journeys. At your first visit, you can expect to be welcomed by someone who understands that making the call to see a therapist isn't always easy, and that reaching out is often the most difficult decision. We will take it one step at a time, and find a pace of treatment that works for you. We will talk about what you want to get out of counseling and the best ways for us to work together to achieve your goals. Contact me through my website, by e-mail, by text, or call for a free 25 minute phone consultation to get started.
